Natural resource governance

Unsustainable management of natural resources can have various causes. Often inadequate governance mechanisms are at the core of the problem. Technical solutions may be available, but they are not applied because there are no facilitating mechanisms in place. Better governance mechanisms that involve the concerned natural resource users as well as other concerned interest groups are required if more sustainable natural resource management is to take root.
