Appropriate policy and regulatory frameworks are key to support sustainable rural development in an environment of increasing competition for scarce resources and growing consumption demands. Evidence-based policy is an approach that helps people make well informed decisions by putting the best available evidence from research at the heart of policy development and implementation.
